Moon behind the clouds

And if you are to love, Love like the moon loves. It doesn't steal the night, It only unveils the beauty of the dark. When you least expect it, love will come to find you and remind you of who you are.  When love sneaks up on you, it can be the most wonderful surprise. He came uninvited, took over, and now rules over my heart, mind, body, and soul. Vividly remember seeing him for the first time. My gaze followed his laughter which caught my attention. Something special in the way he smiled and those dreamy sparkling eyes. Blue denim jeans paired with a white button-down shirt and blue sneakers complimented his dusky complexion. Splash of leather in his waist belt, wrap bracelet, and that chunky wristwatch helped accentuate his persona. Top two buttons that were left undone along with those rolled-up sleeves revealing all that skin and the forearm ink, added to his casual avatar and also made him appear sexier. My heart skipped a beat. BEAUTIFUL. Surrounded by a ...

Forever & ever

We all have time machines. Memories take us back and dreams take us forward. On a trip down the memory lane, I see him, waving me goodbye, as the bus pulled away. I had known him forever. To be exact, right from kindergarten. Going to school & working on homework together, sharing lunchboxes, playing tag in the school playground and troubling each other all the time. We sort of grew up together, our homes just a block apart. Undergrad took us to different cities and later grad school & ambitions took us to different continents. Life happened, and our relationship turned from sharing everything to sharing pleasantries. And eventually, social media and conversations with common friends would tell me, what he's been up to. And just like that, once best friends, became mere acquaintances. I jumped in excitement when Facebook told me he has relocated to New York City for work. After 7 years, we only had the Boston-NYC distance between us. I wanted to give him a buz...

Seasons, hues and moods

In the bronze glow of the summer day, in the greens of wheat and chromes of hay, like a speck of gold on these emerald parks, she sparks and darts, frolicking with larks. In the bleak open skies of the autumn's eve, in the browns of leaves and as old trees grieve, like a silver swan with a fore-telling cry, she sings across lakes and hailing end of dry. In the wisps of drizzle of the rainy morn, in the rolling streams over round stones worn, like a gentle tulip over shiny moss, she blushes and smiles with lips so gloss. In the grays and whites of the winter night, in the tart chilly breeze and doors shut tight, like a tender flame in the crackling fire, she dances and capers with joy and no tire. P.S. Whatever the season, whatever the hue, whatever the mood and even when I am blue, you fill me with joy and keep bothers at bay, for you my love,  I write this song on this day, `Coz if I know what love is, it is because of you!

Feel my love

Let anger be my love Let hatred be my love Let a curse be my love Let a burden be my love Let distance be my love Let a crime be my love Let silence be my love Let disgust be my love Let a void be my love Let nothing Let everything Let something be my love If tearing my letters to you be the way, Let so be the way you feel my love. If throwing away my flowers for you be the way, Let so be the way you feel my love. If shunning my poems on you be the way, Let so be the way you feel my love. If annoyed with my silly woos be the way, Let so be the way you feel my love. When you are annoyed with my very voice, If never does my thought come to you. When you hate to be in my very presence, If Bitter sounds my every word. If wishing to be away from me be the way, If saying so, be the way, If hoping so, be the way, Let so be the way you feel my love. When you give me that burning stare, Let your eyes feel my lov...

17 Again

Dedicated to those who add beautiful memories and stir vibrant colors and make an otherwise ordinary life, extraordinary... Ever got ported to your past life? Ever experienced a moment, which hitched your wagon to an old remembrance? With a charming, smiling face, he happened to me and even before I realized, I was in love. My life seemed perfect. A perfect job. A perfect lifestyle. For my dreams and aspirations, I traveled across continents, moved from one place to another. Made friends wherever I went, but always felt that there was no time for love. Little I knew, that you can cut all the flowers, but you cannot keep spring from coming. Though he was much younger than me, I saw in him a glimpse of my past. It all started with an email in my inbox from the workplace rideshare community that someone is looking for a ride, for a week or two. And so began the saga of long drives, long talks, long walks and long coffee dates & breaks. Whenever he was around, som...

A Love Letter

Gone are the days of putting pen to paper and handwriting a letter. I don't think I can recall the last time someone wrote me a letter... a 'real' letter! Today everyone wants everything to be real-time, be it expressing feelings and emotions or be it receiving the reactions. Some say that the problem with writing letters is that it is too time-consuming. Yet, on the other hand, people will say that they appreciate receiving a hand-written note. Technology today gives us the impression that we are connected in spite of distances, but is that true? That is the million-dollar question! After I posted this blog, one of my sweet old friend 'Ramanujan Iyengar' wrote and posted me a letter where he expressed his views and opinion on this blog. I was totally surprised and overwhelmed.  Sharing the same  :) -  Rama's Letter . Thanks a lot for this Rama, this means a lot to me! People, don't let this classic old-fashioned art of expressing love and ...

My First Crush

Memory is a child walking along a seashore. You never can tell what small pebble it will pick up and store away among its treasured things! Here I am today, sharing with you, a beautiful memory of My First Crush, which tickles me and brings a smile, whenever it crosses my mind. It was magical fall of 2003, when I saw him for the first time, in a wedding reception, midst of happy faces, positive emotions, flowers, lights, food and music- a perfect setting! I was busy chatting with friends and family, meeting new people, catching up with acquaintances and that's when he caught my eyes. Dressed in a light peach shirt and a black Armani suit, that charming face, sporting a perfect smile, didn't fail in leaving me spellbound. He was one of the groomsmen, with mesmerizing hazel eyes, who succeeded in impressing me, without even trying! He caught me staring and smiled, leaving me embarrassed. Unprepared for this, I became conscious despite looking my best, and hasti...
